Author: Todd Parr
Illustrator: Todd Parr
Publisher: Megan Tingley Books
Copyright: 2002
Pages: #29

Summary:
This picture book explained how different daddies act. It explains how dad’s treat their children in different ways such as building a tree house with you or have a tea party with you. But the most important part is that all daddies want their children to know they love being with them for who they are when they are with them.

Activity:
Draw a picture of a favorite activity they do with their dad or father figure.

Recommendation:
This picture book is bright and colorful, full of wonderful things a father would like to do with his children. Every child would love to sit down and read this with their own daddy or special person. Very good book for younger readers learning the basic words and sounds.

Book Review: The Beetle Alphabet Book

Title: The Beetle Alphabet Book (link to amazon.com)
Author: Jerry Pallotta
Illustrator: David Bledrzycki
Publisher: Charlesbridge
Copyright: 2004
Pages: #28

Summary~
This book goes through every letter in the alphabet and has a beetle assigned to each one. It shows unique, fun beetles that most people have never heard of before.

Professional Feedback~
This book was one of our favorite alphabet books, but should be used after the children know the alphabet because it focuses more on beetles than it does on the alphabet. It’s fun because it is very unique and tells us a lot of information about beetles that we would never have know. It’s a fun way to get information.

Summary~
This book goes through the alphabet and has a random thing assigned to each letter.

Professional Feedback~
The pictures are cute and simple.  The objects in this book are unique and not often found in other alphabet books and that makes this book fun, but not my favorite.
