Civil War Reenactment

The same day we went to the apple orchard we decided to drive an extra 30 minutes and experience a civil war reenactment. One of the reasons we love living out here in VA is because of all the history surrounding us. Ben and I both love history! This reenactment was awesome. As soon as we pulled up and saw the tents sent up for the union and the confederate sides, the cannons, and all the soldiers in uniform I got excited. It really was one of the coolest experiences.

That house was actually there during the war. The woman supported the union while her husband and sons fought for the confederates. The battle was literally in their front yard!

We decided to stay outside the fence and away from the crowd. (Gotta love the Crane in my husband-hates crowds) Too bad we decided to stay outside the fence after paying over $20.

After firing the cannons. Hallie kept yelling BOOM every time they would go off. She was loving it!

Soldiers attacking! Certain death. I can't believe they actually used to fight like this.

What's a little outing without diaper changes? Thank heaven for the big back of the prius.

What a great day!
