We love making cookies at our house. Ben complains that we do it a little too often, however he always eats them. (I guess that is the problem.) lol My amazing, wonderful, fabulous, thoughtful friend Lindsey has loaned us her camera and so I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take pictures. (It has been so long!) Thanks Linds!!
The girls. (Notice our matching aprons. Thanks mom!) The handsome boys. (Notice the marathon shirt that he is wearing? It's mine! Thanks Richmond people for providing size small shirts that fit my husband not me.) One of the perks of baking cookies. What a cute messy face!
This year we had the most fabulous Christmas. I love my little family and we had a great time together just the four of us in abnormally warm Virginia. On Christmas Eve we had our neighbors over for dinner and then after the kids went to bed Ben and I watched our current obsession “Wonder Years”. It was nice and quiet; we loved it. Hallie woke us up on Christmas morning just like she does every other morning. She walks into our bedroom climbs on our bed and tells us it’s morning and we need to say our prayers and get going. This time she also added that she couldn’t wait to see if Santa had eaten the cookies and drank the milk we left out for him. Haha no mention of presents she just wanted to see if he had eaten our food.
The tree all ready to go on Christmas Eve.The kids at the top of the stairs waiting anxiously for me to get my camera and dad to get out of bed. Kyle was surprisly good at unwrapping presents. And yes that is a box of cereal my kids got from Santa. We don't buy cold cereal at our house so this was a big treat! I love that I captured her pure joy in this picture. I have a whole other blog post I need to write about this shovel. Kyle liked the shovel as well.
Family picture before heading out the door to Church. An attempt at a picture of the two of them. Another attempt at a picture of my Ky man. A very successful attempt at a picture of my beautiful 3 year old.
This year we attempted a whole gingerbread village. I quickly learned that next year I will do the assembly after the kids go to bed and let them decorate to their hearts content the next morning. They were monsters while I was trying to put the houses together. Oh well, it’s all good fun.
Hallie's finished house. I think she did a great job!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving again this year. We had our friends the Eng’s over for some dinner and then later that night we walked next door to our wonderful neighbors, the Frogan’s, for dessert. I really enjoy cooking and with the menu split between me and Kami it wasn’t stressful at all. Time consuming yes, stressful no. Our menu this year included: Turkey, Homemade stuffing (once you try this stuff the box just doesn’t do it for you.), pumpkin bars, rolls, green bean casserole, mash potatoes and gravy, jello pretzel dessert, apple pie, homemade whipped cream. It was delicious! This was my first year cooking the turkey. I was so nervous! I got the Martha Stewart recipe here and it turned out really good. YAY! Ahh Thanksgiving is the best. Maybe one year we will make it back to Utah so we can eat with our families. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath.
Our table ready to eat. It looks beautiful! Homemade Stuffing! How are my kids so big?! Love this girl! p.s. Thanks for bringing your camera Kami.
We are so blessed beyond our own comprehension. Life is good.
